Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji

As I read an article in the Guardian today, I felt emotional, angry and frustrated at the plight of the Pilot Whales and the Bottlenose Dolphins in Taiji (6 hrs from Japan). They are being caught, penned in coves, brutally killed with knives and sold for their meat. Since September 1st there have been 100 dolphins and 50 pilot whales slaughtered with an estimated 2,300 to follow in the next six months. What can I say, it is abhorrent that such practices continue to take place.
A man named Ric O'Barry has been campaigning against this culling for the past 10 years. I have resolved that I will find out more.
